"When the creative energy is flowing, the brushes practically fly out of my hands," says Margaret McFetridge the creator of large floral oil paintings and small exquisite watercolours. An 1880's driveshed (a.k.a. the Bloomin' Barn), nestled in the garden of her Victorian home, houses Margaret's work - elegant paintings against battered barn boards is a delightful eyeful she says. Described as joyous and uplifting, her colourful paintings are definite mood boosters. Preferring to paint in her garden, she uses large brushes and confident strokes to bring poppies, peonies and hollyhocks to life on canvas.
Hours: 10am-5pm, Thu. to Mon., May to Oct.; other times by chance or appointment.
